Job announcements for Oct week 2...

Grant Thornton
Grant Thornton, the London-based business and financial adviser, has seen an increase in turnover of 13%, now at £471m. The company has promoted 25 partners and taken on 280 trainees since 2012. The company aims to have a turnover of £500m by 2015.

Teleperformance
International call centre company, Teleperformance, is creating up to 1,000 jobs in Scotland. Teleperformance is recruiting customer service advisers, trainers and team managers for their call centres. The firm, which generated more than £2bn in revenues last year, already has 7,400 UK staff.

Tnt Post
Private postal operator TNT Post is on schedule with its plan to create 20,000 jobs by 2017. The firm recruits staff through Jobcentre Plus, work programme provider Avanta and through its own pre-employment training course. The expansion follows the 2006 liberalisation of the UK postal market. Turnover £455.9m.

Research Team EU
Research Team EU, a Cumbria-based research firm has expanded into the Netherlands with help of business support programme BIG Cumbria. Research Team EU has recruited more than 15 researchers and seen growth in client numbers and projects. BIG Cumbria provided advice on presenting work using web-based technology.

G4S
Security solutions company G4S has opened a new headquarters in Oxfordshire, for its facilities management business, G4S Integrated Services, creating 120 jobs. The facilities management business has grown to £250m turnover, and is planning further expansion. G4S has 620,000 employees worldwide.

Ovg
Digital marketing agency Online Ventures is relocating its Manchester office and plans to add ten members of staff to its current team of 26 over the 12 months to October 2014.

Hitec (Laboratories)
Hitec, a leading provider of software solutions, is opening a new development centre in Swansea backed by £340,000 business finance from the Welsh Government. The investment will create sixteen highly skilled jobs. Turnover £5.2m, 70 employees.

ROVOP
Aberdeen-based ROVOP, which operates remote controlled submarines used on North Sea oil and gas projects, expects to create 50 jobs after winning a £45m contract with Ceona. ROVOP will supply Ceona with Remote Operated Vessel services on projects in areas such as the North Sea. ROVOP has a turnover of £3.2m.

Amazon
Online retailer Amazon is taking on 1,500 workers at its distribution centre in Staffordshire this Christmas. Positions have been created to cope with the busy seasonal period. Some of the jobs will become permanent.

H2 Energy
160 new jobs are to be created by Liverpool based, H2 Energy Limited, after a company which converts waste to energy selected the city to set up its manufacturing and innovation centre. About 160 new jobs will be created over the next three years, with an initial 60 by 2014.
