Job announcements for Oct week 1 ...

Ernst & Young
Companies increasingly seeking advice on issues such as cyber security has led to professional services firm Ernst & Youngs latest recruitment drive. In the UK, EY is looking to hire 2,400 experienced people in the next 12 months, to meet growing demand from its clients for advisory services. It will also hire 700 graduates, 500 undergraduates and 150 school leavers.

Birchall Blackburn
North West law firm Birchall Blackburn plans to create 50 new jobs over the two years to 2015. The expansion follows the launch of a new brand strategy for the business, in response to changes within the legal industry allowing non-law firms to enter the market.

Aegon UK
Aegon UK has announced plans to create more than 100 new roles at its headquarters over the next few months. The core expansion is driven by the strong growth of Aegon Retirement Choices, the insurer's digital platform launched last year.

Nationwide Platforms Limited
A customer service centre is being built for powered access platform provider Nationwide Platforms, in the West Midlands. The firm is consolidating its operations on the site, allowing it to offer support through the Midlands, East Anglia, and beyond. The site is in the Black Country Enterprise Zone, which could create 3,000 jobs by 2017.

T.I.S.Cumbria Limited
TIS.Cumbria, a Workington engineering firm, has secured £700,000 through the Britains Energy Coast investing in business scheme. The company is opening a new facility, providing offices, rig hall and manufacturing space. 70 positions, including managerial, will be created over an 18-month period.

The Contact Hub Limited
The Contact Hub, a successful and growing Rotherham business, is recruiting 25 full-time staff. The company was formed in 2008 and has grown to 50 employees, including debt management, loan and mortgage specialists. It also refers people on for help with specific issues.

Tnt Post Uk Limited
Private postal operator TNT Post is on schedule with its plan to create 20,000 jobs by 2017. The firm recruits staff through Jobcentre Plus, work programme provider Avanta and through its own pre-employment training course.

Travelodge Hotels Ltd
Travelodge is recruiting for 150 new jobs as it opens five new hotels between now and Christmas. 110 jobs are for the new hotels in Manchester, Southport, Crawley, London Walthamstow and Chertsey, and 20 new hotel managers and assistant managers in existing hotels as well as 20 new recruits for its head office in Oxfordshire.

Lyncu Ltd
Lyncu, a Pembrokeshire start-up which has created a digital system to bring independent companies together, has created 10 new jobs.
