Job announcements for Oct week 4 ...

UK Shared Business Services Centre
UK Shared Business Services, based in Newport, has seen increased demand, leading to company expansion and the creation of 130 new jobs. The new jobs include apprenticeships and graduate placements. The company intends to expand throughout the UK. Turnover £44.6m.

Cgi Group Holdings
Global IT firm CGI is opening an Open Source Digital Services Centre for software development in Glasgow, in 2014, creating 250 new jobs. The jobs will support the projected growth in business that will be delivered from the new centre. Roles will range from technical and managerial staff, to graduate and apprenticeship opportunities.

Traveltek
Internet technology provider Traveltek is creating 20 new jobs in addition to 40 new staff taken on earlier this year, with the launch of iCruise. The launch of Traveltek's iCruise selling system has led to increasing demand as many of the UK's major cruise retailers adopt the system.

BLUR (Group)
Blur Group is creating 50 jobs in Exeter. The company, which operates an online service exchange, has opened an R&D base in Exeter and is relocating to Exeter Science Park in November 2013.

KCOM Group
Eclipse, KCOM Groups Exeter-based middle-market internet brand, has been named Best SME Solution at the Comms National Awards. The company now has 3,500 customers across the UK and has growth plans, including the creation of 60 jobs.

Budget Energy
Electricity supplier, Budget Energy, will create 50 new jobs after securing a £1m loan. Budget Energy plans to use the working capital to double its workforce over the next five years and will grow its customer base to 100,000 from 40,000 currently.

Gm Marketing (Ireland)
Food marketing firm GM Marketing is investing £1.6m to expand in the Republic of Ireland and Great Britain, creating 15 jobs. Invest NI is providing £63,000 through its Jobs Fund, allowing the company to expand marketing and back office teams.

Laithwaites
Gloucestershire based Omega Resource Group is celebrating a five year business deal with a UK wine distributor, Laithwaites, worth around £15m. The contract will see the Stonehouse recruitment company fill around 400 roles, with approximately 250 workers on the shop floor and a further 160 in the call centre.

Response (Building Rewarding Relationships)
Response, a leading contact centre services provider, is creating 50 new jobs, reflecting on-going growth across its client base. The Glasgow-based company has, in the 12 months to October 2013, created 300 jobs after securing four key contract extensions and gaining a significant new client. Turnover £28.3m, 1,310 employees.

T.J. Morris
T.J. Morris, the North West-based retailer trading as Home Bargains, is building a £70m distribution hub in the South West, creating up to 1,200 jobs. The hub will also serve as a management training centre. The firm also intends to open 400 new stores.

Derby City Council
Derby City Council is to develop Infinity Park in Derby, in partnership with Rolls-Royce, the Harpur Crewe Estate, and join developers Wilson Bowden and Miller Birch. The £200m development will provide mixed-commercial space, and create 8,000 hi-tech jobs. The scheme will include office, industrial, leisure and retail space.
