NHS Business Services Authority
The NHS Busines Services Authority, which is based in Newcastle upon Tyne, may employ 8,000 commissioning staff to run Commissioning Support Units on behalf of the NHS Commissioning Board. Talks are underway regarding the partnership.
UK Land Estates
UK Land Estates has submitted plans for a 10-acre mixed-use development in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear. The plans include a hotel, offices, shops, and restaurants. The complex could create 750 jobs, and another 121 jobs during the building stage.
Airbus UK
Airbus is recruiting 500 skilled workers for its factories in Broughton, North Wales, and Filton, Bristol, after securing a series of new orders, including including two contracts for 100 planes, worth £6.7bn.
Hiscox
International insurance giant Hiscox is to open a new office in York, creating 300 jobs. The office will initially have 125 staff when it opens in autumn 2014, rising to 300. 20 per cent of the jobs will be relocated from other centres.

London-based Development Securities and Plymouth firm Wessex Investors are planning a multi-million-pound mixed-use development at Launceston, Cornwall, including a new Morrisons foodstore which could provide 260 new jobs.
Unitel Direct
Unitel Direct, a telesales company, is diversifying and increasing its workforce in Barrow, Cumbria from 11 to 100 over the six months to March 2013. The firm has expanded into utility, mobile phone and broadband sales..
Hughes Insurance
Hughes Insurance insures one in five motorists in Northern Ireland and plans to increase this to one in four. It has won the Investment in People award at the 2012 UK Broker Awards for its training and development programme.
Quantus (NI)
Quantus, a Las Vegas-based software provider, is creating 55 jobs in Belfast. Invest NI has offered £412,500 to help Quantus establish a support, operations and software development centre to service existing US markets and to expand throughout Europe.
Viking Recruitment
Viking Recruitment is to begin construction of a £6.5 million maritime training academy in Whitfield, Kent, in January 2013. It will be completed by spring 2014. 50 jobs will be created. The company is seeking funding from global players and the east Kent regeneration fund.
R.Bennett & Co
Contractor R. Bennett & Co is to renovate 3 buildings in Dudley for Dudley Council. The 590,000 project will create office space supporting 50 jobs. works will be completed in spring 2013.
Marine Harvest (Scotland)
Inverness-shire seafood producer Marine Harvest (Scotland) has created 47 jobs during 2011. The company has recorded a 63 per cent rise in turnover to 205.8m in 2011, up from 126.6m. Pre-tax profits increased 73% from 33.1m to 57.2m.
Communisis
Communisis, a marketing company which prints bank cheque books, plans to its Lisburn plant and move the 46 jobs there to Cheshire. The company are downsizing due to the fall in demand for cheque books.
South West Trains
South West Trains is to make a £23m upgrade of its commuter trains which serve the lines to Portsmouth, Basingstoke and Alton. The four-year programme of work will be carried out in Bournemouth, Dorset, creating 40 jobs.
Safc Biosciences
Chemical company SAFC Biosciences has secured a £1.5 million regional selective assistance grant from Scottish Enterprise to create a new powder manufacturing facility in Irvine, Ayrshire. The expansion will create 24 jobs. SAFC, which is a subsidiary of Sigma Aldrich, has a turnover of £32.16m.
Newgalexy Services
NewGalexy Services, Scotlands first centre for legal process outsourcing, has started trading. The company employs 21 staff in Glasgow and also has bases in London, Chicago and Mumbai.
Moller Uk
Moller, a German engineering and installation group, has opened a warehouse and office in Rotherham - its first permanent base in the UK. Moller will run its refractory maintenance operation from the site and is creating 20 jobs. It aims to become the leading company in the refractory market in the UK in five years.
Reays Coaches
Cumbrian bus company Reays is planning to increase the number of buses in Carlisle and lengthen some routes from 1 October 2012. The expansion is expected to create up to 20 jobs.
Independent Living Services (I L S)
Care company Independent Living Services is recruiting 20 new staff members in the Stirling area. The company, which has grown to become one of the largest employers in Scotland, provides services to Stirling Council, supporting vulnerable people in their own homes. Puxton
Puxton has secured planning approval for a £2m expansion of its adventure park in Somerset, including a new garden centre, gift shop and larger restaurant. The expansion will create 40 garden centre jobs and 20 construction jobs.
Ageas (Uk)
Ageas has entered into a partnership with John Lewis to develop and provide travel insurance. Ageas will underwrite the travel insurance product and handle the claims services. It has recruited 10 new staff at its office at Trentham Lakes, Stoke-On-Trent, where it will manage sales and administration. Ageas employs 500 people at Trentham Lakes.
