Wellington boot maker Hunter, has posted a 38% rise in profits, as the company benefits from the recent wet weather and its boots being worn by fashion icons such as Kate Moss. Sales rose by 53 per cent in the UK, 11 per cent in the US and 66 per cent across the rest of the world, resulting in profits totalling £16 million according to WWD.com Despite recently moving manufacturing to China, it is hoped that if the company continues to perform well, this will result in extra employment for designers and management staff in its UK headquarters.
