Job announcements for July week 3

Co-Operative Banking Group
Co-Operative Banking Group has secured an agreement to buy 632 branches for up to 750m from Lloyd Banking Group. 8,000 employees will transfer from Lloyds to the Co-op as part of the deal. It will increase the Co-op bank branch network to 1,000, representing 10% of the UK network.

Gatwick Airport
Gatwick Airport expects to create an additional 1,200 jobs and invest £1bn in the airport by the early 2020s, increasing passenger numbers to 40 million a year. It expects to reach full capacity of 45 million passengers a year by 2030.

Kawasaki Precision Machinery
Kawasaki Precision Machinery Group is expanding its Plymouth factory by 40% after securing a grant from the European Regional Development Fund. It will invest £6m in the expansion, increasing its 300-strong team in Plymouth by between 75 and100. The hydraulic products manufacturer hopes to increase sales turnover by 60% over five years.

Charles Novacroft Direct
Northampton-based Novacroft has recruited 96 staff after securing new orders to meet demand created by the Olympics. The company provides smart-card ticketing services to clients such as Transport for London and the Association of Train Operating Companies.

Roxhill Developments
Roxhill development has started work on the Gateway Peterborough project, a multi-million pound project which could create 8,000 jobs. The development will provide 240 acres of distribution and manufacturing space in five million square foot of employment space.

Gracewell Healthcare
Gracewell Healthcare is opening a £7m care home in Salisbury in October 2012, creating 75 new jobs. The expanding company plans to open further care homes across the South East, South West and Midlands by 2013.

Tronic
Underwater communications company Tronic in Cumbria is to create 70 jobs. The company has an annual turnover of £44m and employs 280 staff.

British Telecommunications
BT is recruiting up to 60 young apprentices to its customer contact operations in Dundee this year to help tackle youth unemployment in the city.

Ginetta Cars
Leeds-based motor manufacturer Ginetta is creating 60 jobs after securing a distribution agreement with Chinese company Tong Kai Group. Ginetta will supply the company with a minimum of 50 of its newly launched G60 and G40R road cars per year. Ginetta is also in discussions with potential distributors in Qatar, Kuwait and Hong Kong.

T.G. Holdcroft
TG Holdcroft has started construction of its £6.2m Honda and Hyundai car dealership in Cheshire Oaks, Cheshire. 60 jobs will be created at the development which will amalgamate the Chester and Wirral territories for Honda and Holdcroft.

Barrhead Travel 2007
Barrhead Travel is creating jobs for 50 young apprentices across Scotland in a £700,000 investment programme. The company will start recruiting immediately and is looking for applicants, aged 16 to 19, who have already left school, to join its retail branches. Those who successfully complete the course may be offered a permanent position at the £31.7m turnover company.

CDM Media
US-based CDM Media is opening a 6,470 sq ft office in Cardiff in August 2012, where it will create 50 jobs by 2013. The technology media and marketing business has had operations in Cardiff for five years and has 15 employees in the city.

Brodies
Edinburgh based law firm Brodies has recorded a 16 per cent rise in annual turnover to 42.8 million. Operating profit also rose by 22 per cent to £17.6m. The number of partners rose 11 per cent to 73 during 2011-2012, and the companys overall headcount grew 9 per cent to 513.

Fluid Transfer International
Fluid Transfer International, a Gloucestershire engineering firm has secured a 2.11m order to supply Pertamina, the national oil company of Indonesia, with 22 hydrant dispenser vehicles for refuelling aircraft. The company employs72 people and the new contract will create 25 new jobs. John Little is managing director of the company which has a turnover of 10m.

Pressurefab Group
Pressurefab, an oil and gas manufacturing specialist, is investing £1m to upgrade its Dundee facility. The investment is expected to create 25 jobs over two years. The company plans to expand in the renewable energy market.

The Maxim Creative Group
The Maxim Creative Group, a Lancashire interior fit out and retail design company has increased turnover by 75% after winning new clients in the 2012 first half. The company has recruited 20 new staff as a result of the increased business and has invested 200,000 in new machinery to increase productivity.

Ping Europe
Global golf club manufacturer Ping Europe has created 15 new jobs with the opening of its new multi-million pound facility in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, and further jobs are expected. Ping has achieved sustained annual growth and is optimistic for further growth in the future. Ping employs 220 staff in Gainsborough and has turnover of £51.8m.

Peter Lynn and Partners
As part of its business development strategy, Swansea based Peter Lynn and Partners has taken on 12 staff and relocated its HQ to the citys SA1 district following an increase in demand for their legal services.

Airborn International
US-based Airborn International, a 160m dollar turnover company which manufactures micro-miniature and nano-miniature electrical connectors, has combined UK office and manufacturing operations at a 7,500 sq ft facility in Tonbridge, Kent. Manufacturing was previously based in Chatham, with offices in Edenbridge. The investment has created 10 jobs, with further growth expected.
