Job announcements for January week 1...


East Anglia Offshore Wind
East Anglia Offshore Wind is planning to build the biggest UK wind farm off the coast of Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft. The East Anglia ONE development will require 325 wind turbines and will provide power for 770,000 homes.

Marston's
Staffordshire headquartered pub and brewing firm Marstons is planning to open more than 20 new pubs in 2013. More than 1000 jobs are expected to be created as a direct result, with around 40-50 jobs per location.

Eco Environment Resources
Eco Environment Resources UK is to build a £100m biomass plant in Llangefni, Wales, potentially creating 400 jobs. The company has secured an environmental permit from Environment Agency Wales for the plant.

Global Energy
Global Energy is increasing its 800-strong workforce at Nigg Energy Park in Ross-shire by a further 400 and has launched a recruitment campaign. The expansion follows an increase in orders. Some of the new recruits will work at the neighbouring Invergordon Service Base.

Dana Petroleum Public Limited Company
Dana Petroleum is to go ahead with a £989m project to bring on stream two UK oil fields. The Department of Energy has approved the Western Isles development of the Harris and Barra fields in the northern North Sea. The project will create 200 jobs, and a significant amount of supply, engineering and construction work.

Outreach
Lenore Care Home and Outreach Ltd are to build a new care village for people with autism in North Shields. The scheme is expected to create 60 to 100 jobs. The 40 bed facility will include a day care centre with a sensory room, an IT suite, television and cinema rooms, a kitchen and garden.

Eagle One Holdings
Property development company Eagle One are investing £4.5m in a new retail and trade counter development in Exeter, Devon. The Alphington Retail Park Scheme will include four units with planning consent for bulky goods retail and warehouse/trade floor space. Approximately 50-100 jobs are expected to be created as a direct result.

HM Revenue & Customs
Seventy new jobs will be created at HM Revenue and Customs at Lillyhall in the new year. The news comes as the centre prepares for the end of a year-long pilot scheme which has seen about 40 contractors from private company Sitel employed alongside HMRC staff. There are currently 240 HMRC staff at the centre, on top of the 40 contractors.

Cordell Group
Engineering company Cordell Group, based in Stockton, Teesside, has taken on 20 more apprentices. Staff numbers increased to record levels in 2012, including 76 apprentices in total. Cordell Group employs 700 staff across nine UK sites, with 570 of them based in the North-East.

Ancora Healthcare
Ancora Healthcare Limited is to open a new pharmacy in the Dr Kennedy & Partners doctors surgery in Scunthorpe, South Humberside. The new pharmacy will open in January 2012. Thirteen new jobs have been created as a direct result, including three pharmacists, eight staff members and two drivers.
