Job announcements for December week 2...


Sellafield
Sellafield is to create 500 jobs and recruitment is to begin immediately. The 500 figure includes 50 local apprentices who will join the company after completing their training at GEN II and a further 50 graduates from Sellafield Ltds graduate recruitment program.

The Sharp Project
The Sharp Project in Manchester, could receive a multimillion pound investment to create a purpose-built drama hub and 500 new jobs. The expansion would provide new production stages over 35,000 sq ft and 10,000 sq ft of space for production offices, dressing rooms, prop storage and make-up. A new 22,000 sq ft data centre could also be created.

Croydon Council
Croydon Council is to open a centre for entrepreneurs, creating 470 jobs. The centre will support 260 businesses over the 10 year lease by sharing offices and IT equipment. It will be funded by a 1.5m grant from a regeneration fund.

Plexus Holdings
Electronics firm Plexus is to complete a £9m expansion in Bathgate, West Lothian, in February 2013, creating 130 new jobs. The company received £1m of support through Scottish Enterprise.

Outplay Entertainment
Video game developer Outplay is to create 120 jobs after securing £2.5 million in funding from Pentech Ventures and the Scottish Investment Bank. The company aims to reach one million daily users by the end of 2013, with 98 per cent of sales coming from overseas markets.

The Conygar Investment Company
Developer Conygar Investment Company plans to build a transport hub and logistics department at Parc Cybi in Holyhead, providing rest facilities for truck drivers. The 5m plans will create up to 80 jobs in catering, fuelling, vehicle maintenance, security and cleaning and will support plans for a warehouse scheme at the same site.

EMC Advisory Services
Financial claims management company EMCAS has opened a call centre in Taunton, creating 40 jobs. The Company employs more than 300 people and has a turnover of £17.1m.

Marlborough Engineering
Northern Irish aerospace manufacturer Marlborough Engineering is to create 33 jobs as part of a £3.6m expansion, supported by over £406,000 of investment by Invest NI, part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund. The company currently employs 67 people and has recently invested in developing relationships with aerospace suppliers in the US and Middle East.

Jones Bros Ruthin Co
Civil engineering company Jones Bros Ruthin Co has secured a £6.6m contract with RWE npower to carry out a major pipeline replacement scheme at Dolgarrog Hydroelectric Power Station. The contract will create up to 30 jobs at Jones Bros and secure the workforce at Dolgarrog Hydroelectric Power Station.

Learning Pool
In order to continue its business expansion, Londonderry based Learning Pool, an e-learning company, is to recruit 30 people between 2012-2015 in technology, technical support and content development roles.

Pentaxia
Pentaxia, a Derby-based hi-tech materials specialist, expects to invest and expand in 2013, and recruit 20 more employees. It may seek funding from Derby City Council Enterprise Growth Fund. Pentaxia manufactures composite components for planes and vehicles.

All Pipe Engineering
Londonderry-based All Pipe Engineering is to create 20 jobs through an investment of £1m. It is expanding into a new market, pharmaceutical and consumer health care and has secured £180,000 from Invest NI to support the expansion. Liam Gallagher is CEO.

Oliver Valves
Knutsford-based manufacturer Oliver Valves has launched a recruitment drive that will create 20 new jobs following international growth.

Genesis Associates
Cheshire recruitment firm Genesis Associates, expects turnover to increase from £2.5m to £3.5m in 2013. Its 30-strong team will be increased to 45 following a move to larger premises in 2013 to service expected growth in its UK and international engineering division.

Case Training Services
Case Training Services, a charity that supports clients with learning disabilities, has received £670,000 European Regional Development funding, to build an enterprise centre in Hull. Its existing offices will also be transformed and a business manager will be recruited. The project aims to create six new social enterprises and 14 new jobs.

Hcl-Safety
Hcl-Safety, an installer and inspector of fall-protection systems for employees working at height, is opening 3,099 sq ft headquarters in Birmingham in December 2012, providing room to accommodate eight more employees. Birmingham will be the central administrative base for HCLs ten regional offices.

Rainbow Communications
Northern Ireland telecoms company Rainbow Communications is expanding into Scotland creating 14 jobs at its new office in Glasgow and a further 6 at its Belfast Base.
