Inward Investment Announces Move to Derby

New Derby Inward Investment Cameron has announced its intentions to open a UK centre for its engineering expansion. The global oil and gas company, which is head-quartered in Texas, chose Derby for access to hi-tech engineering talent, as well as its central location and regeneration of the city.

Speaking prior to the event, Paul Morley, Cameron's UK Engineering Manager said, "Derby really opened our eyes. As well as already having a reputation for engineering, it is a developed city – and its regeneration is continuing, despite what is happening in the wider economy. There is a real buzz about the place. You could say Derby won the beauty contest – but it also won the skills contest."

At the Embassy, the company's Director of Engineering Aftermarket, Brian Haynes, reaffirmed the reasons why Cameron chose Derby.

"After looking at many cities across the UK, we were attracted to Derby for a number of reasons including a talented workforce, a high number of universities in the area for graduates and the excellent transport links.  We expect to initially recruit 20 highly-skilled engineers, increasing to 40 by the end of next year with potential further growth in the future."
