Arvato Services
As part of its business expansion strategy Arvato Finance, which provides tailor-made solutions for private and public sector clients, has opened a new base in Dublin in Ireland. One hundred financial jobs have been created as a direct result. The company has a turnover of 5.4 billion euro.
Meridian Delta
Direct marketing company Meridian Delta is to create 100 jobs and increase turnover to 5 million by the end of 2014 after securing a 125,000 investment. The company has a turnover of 1.25m and employs 63 staff.
Emis Group
GP software company Emis has opened new offices in Yorkshire to accomodate the 289 staff it has taken on this year, and is recruiting for a further 43 positions. The company employs 1,249 people.
Grwp Gwalia
Grwp Gwalia, a Swansea-based social care and housing provider, is opening a nursing care home in Tumble, Carmarthenshire, in early 2013. Twenty jobs will initially be created at the home, with up to 50 more to follow, including roles for nurses, care assistants and night care assistants.
Hastings Direct
Hastings Direct is to create 200 new jobs by September 2013. The jobs include customer-facing roles and will be based in East Sussex. The company has introduced a fast-track graduate intake in September 2012.
Hewlett-Packard Ireland
Hewlett-Packard Ireland is consolidating two existing offices at a Global Centre of Software Engineering Excellence in Belfast, creating 40 jobs. The centre will become a hub for high-level research and development. Demand for HPs services in Northern Ireland is growing and further jobs are expected. HP has 50 employees in the country.
Close Brothers
In order to continue its business expansion, specialist financial services group Close Brothers Asset Management, has made senior appointments across the UK and will be growing the team.
Auxilion
Ireland-based Auxilion, an IT support firm, is expanding into the UK with a new office in Sheffield which is becoming a hub for technology companies. The expansion will create 25 new jobs, split between Dublin and the new Sheffield base.
Surgical Innovations
Leeds based medical instrument manufacturer Surgical Innovations has recorded a 9 per cent rise in sales and is to make senior appointments in October 2012 as it prepares for growth.
Mustard TV
Mustard TV, a new television station for Norwich, will create up to 14 jobs and will also develop a degree in television production with Norwich University College of the Arts. The service, a joint venture led by publisher Archant, will start broadcasting in autumn 2013. It has been awarded a 12-year licence by Ofcom.
Access Intelligence
Software company Access Intelligence is creating a new development centre in York. 25 new staff have been recruited with a further 5 new jobs by the end of 2012. The company expects to grow turnover by 25 per cent year on year with a £10m turnover in the year ending 30 November 2012. 20 per cent of turnover will be invested in research and development.
Swansea University
Swansea University has secured 90m of funding to create a science and innovation campus which is expected to create 10,000 jobs. The investment includes 60m from the European Investment Bank, 15m from the European Regional Development Fund and 15m from the Welsh Government.
BT Group
Telcoms company BT is expected to be named preferred bidder for a 40m project to bring superfast broadband to Suffolk. BT is also due to be confirmed as the preferred bidder for broadband services in Norfolk. The Better Broadband for Norfolk project is expected to create 1,337 jobs.
Unitel Direct
Unitel Director, a telesales company, is diversifying and increasing its workforce in Barrow, Cumbria from 11 to 100 over the six months to March 2013. The firm has expanded into utility, mobile phone and broadband sales.
Versarien
Versarien, a high technology company specialising in materials development, is bidding for 3.6m of Government funding to create a purpose-built research facility. The expansion could create 600 jobs. Versarien is considering locations in Gloucestershire for the new facility.
Wandisco International
WANdisco has established a software development centre in Belfast, Northern Ireland, after securing £360,000 of funding from Invest Northern Ireland. It is creating 36 jobs at the cente, which will double its software engineering capacity. The company has its headquarters in Sheffield.
