Jobs promised in government’s £9.4bn rail investment

The Department for Transport has announced £9.4bn of railway upgrades across England and Wales, which should deliver jobs and the capacity for 140,000 extra daily commutes by train. The investment will be undertaken in the period 2014-19, with London projects representing a mainstay of the work.
