Job announcements for July week 2


Marex Group 
As part of its business development strategy, Marex Spectron, the London based futures brokerage firm is to hire up to 100 additional staff.

Pavilion Financial Services
Brighton-based Pavilion Financial Services is expanding its business to offer mortgage advice. It plans to grow by strategic acquisition and is taking over the client bank of an IFA who is retiring.

Scott Logic
In order to continue its business expansion, software development firm Scott Logic based in Newcastle, has moved into larger premises. One hundred new jobs are also to be created at the company by the end of 2012. The companys turnover is anticipated to rise by £2m to £7m in 2012.

IQ Content
IQ Content, an Irish design consultancy which builds websites and applications, is expanding into the UK with plans to open a Manchester office by the end of 2012. iQ Content employs 40 staff in Dublin and is targeting turnover of £4m for 2012, up from £3.29m in 2011.

London & Country Mortgages
London & Country, the largest UK mortgage broker, is expanding into north east England. It is working with Tyne and Wear Development Company to identify a location for a new sales office and call centre. The expansion will create 80 new jobs. Turnover £10.9m, 260 employees.

Metroline
Metro has received permission for a new £250 million state-of-the-art public transport system in Leeds that will create 4,000 new jobs. The Department for Transport will provide £173.5 million funding with the remainder from local authorities. The trolleybus will be fully operational in 2018.

Mmr Research Worldwide
MMR Research Worldwide is growing its London-based research team with a number of appointments. The company is establishing a dedicated qualitative research team as part of its ongoing business development strategy. Turnover £12m.

NCC Group
NCC, a Manchester-based IT security and assurance group, plans to double turnover in the five years to 2017. Turnover increased from 70.1m to 87.7m in the year to May 2012. The company is recruiting 200 new staff and will continue expanding at home and internationally. NCC employs 850 staff.

Home Scents
Northumberland-based Home Scents has doubled the size of its premises and appointed a sales team to meet demand, with the support of the North East Angel Fund. It has a UK and international expansion strategy. £1m turnover is expected by 2018.

First Class Concepts
Outsourced sales and marketing firm First Class Concepts has moved its headquarters to Glasgow, creating 10 jobs. The company has grown rapidly through acquisition and organic growth and plans to continue in 2012.

SGE Corporation
SGE Corporation, a Leeds based financial services company, is increasing its workforce from 60 to 120 in 2012 due to increased demand. The company, which people to reduce their energy bills, has increased turnover from £1.8m to £3m.

Survival Craft Inspectorate
Survival Craft Inspectorate, which provides emergency marine evacuation systems, is taking on two apprentices and 6 staff, and four more trainees and 4 more staff will be recruited to strengthen its 148-strong team. Turnover is expected to increase from £15m to £25m in 2012-13 and a £250,000 upgrade of its Aberdeen headquarters is underway.
