THREE "major" companies have earmarked a city industrial site for new bases that would create 900 jobs. The trio of firms could be in place on the 86-hectare site at Chellaston by summer 2014. Developer Mark Bielby, who has held talks with the companies, said they were from manufacturing, service, and financial backgrounds, and that the manufacturing outfit, which could bring 400 jobs, was the closest to "agreeing a deal". Progress had been halted on the business park because of the recession.
