Businesses 'not making most of new technology'

Derbyshire firms are not making the most of new technology to sell their products, according to research. A study by Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce found that despite 95% of businesses in the county having their own website, just 18% use web marketing to promote their products and services. The study found that less than 40% of businesses used websites like Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook. Despite the recent explosion in popularity of the iPhone and Android smartphone, only 14% of businesses use applications on these platforms to market or sell their products.
