The husband and wife team behind the Card Factory chain have reportedly put the chain up for sale. Dean and Janet Hoyle have appointed KPMG to advise on a sale of their business, which could make them up to £400 million, according to press reports.
Card Factory had sales of £168 million in the year ended January 2009, with profits of approximately £29 million. Potential bidders are thought to include private equity firms Advent International and TPG.
